When I joined I felt, and still feel, that the diversity of the neighborhood is well represented both by the CU's members and its employees. As welcoming as the staff is, I had no problem following when the building on Gregory St became its new home. The loyalty I felt to Genesee Co-op FCU at that time has been validated by an incident in May 2009. One of my checks was presented to the teller, unsigned, for a large amount. When that individual came back with same check supposedly signed by me, the CU refused to cash it, because the staff recognized the signature as forged. I got to see how the sense of kinship the CU propagates, plays out in order to safeguard its members. Thank you, team.”
Teens & Money Program :

Teens can make their money go farther. Much farther. All it takes is a little know-how. Now your credit union is making sure they get that know-how. For four days this summer, Genesee Co-op FCU will offer Money & Me, a hands-on experience that gives teenagers the basics of money—and how to make it work for them. They will learn about:
• Budgets: how to make them, how to make them stick
• Savings, checking accounts, ATM/Debit cards
• Credit: the good and the bad
• Saving and shopping for a big purchase
• Planning and investing for the future
Money & Me will take place from Monday, August 16 - Thursday, August 19 from 10 AM - 3 PM. The program is free and will be held at The Tango Cafe, next to the CU .
